Scott W. Perry, Founder

Scott W. Perry was born on August 13, 1977 on Long Island, where he has lived all his life. At an early age, Scott developed a love for film. At the age of 8, Scott wanted to watch a "Friday The 13th" movie but his parents would not allow him unless he watched a video on special effects. The tape, "Tom Savini's Scream Greats," made Scott appreciate the magic of movie making. At the age of 12, Scott wrote and directed his first play, an adaptation of Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer" and by the age of 14 had made his first short film. In 1993, Scott entered Wilson Tech to study video production and made countless projects over the next two years with a group of fellow filmmakers. Projects ranged from short horror films to stop motion animation to even public service announcements. Scott graduated from the program in 1995 and decided to go to Suffolk Community College to major in TV and Radio Production. There, he made two more projects with his old Wilson Tech group before departing from the group in 1997 when he received a job offer to work at MTV Networks, where he worked as production assistant on various MTV and VH1 shows from 1997-1999. In 2000, Scott focused his energies on screenwriting and studied intensely. In 2002, Scott finished his first screenplay. On April 2003, Scott won his first award as a screenwriter when his script UNSUNG, a personal drama, was given "Hall Of Fame" status on Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street website and followed it with two more "Top Ten" entries. After a few setbacks in 2004, Scott has bounced back and in 2005 has fulfilled his dream with the launch of Slick Devil Entertainment.
